Ms M. Stewart [Asst. Director of Admin/Welfare], St Claudine's Catholic School for Girls 28th June 2024

To an outstanding member of society, Sir Jack Petchey, who through his generosity has helped to changed the lives of so many young people, organisations etc. I recall a student winning the Jack Petchey Award in the school I work in. She came running to me saying, "Miss, I won £250 from Jack Petchey, do you wanna come shopping with me?" I had to explain she doesn't actually get that money in hand to go on a shopping spree. She asked what was the point and I replied Mr Petchey has built himself up from his boot straps and he has been paying it forward for years and has enabled us to do the same; so choose an activity or something to spend your money on that would benefit others as well. She got the message and paid it forward with a trip for all of her registration class. May Sir Jack Petchey's legacy continue to live on as a reminder of his generosity and to remind us to be generous, caring, giving and to give us the realisation that we can accomplish all things if we truly put our mind to it. Rest in peace Jack!!! You have truly earned this.
