Our yearly show 'Step LIVE!' when I was running the Step into Dance programe for the Royal Academy of Dance, always conicided within a few days of Sir Jack's birthday. Every year we made sure that this was celebrated by our dancers on stage with some sort of birthday surprise. This ranged from a huge tapestry flying in from the 'Gods' to hundreds of cards hung on a long 'washing line' made and presented by the dancers. Sir Jack enjoyed these surprises as much as we all did making them. I shall always remember these times as some of my happiest. Thank you Sir Jack. You will always be fondly remembered.
