Sir Jack Petchey was an absolute legend. He was an inspiration and example to generations of young people. His personal story spoke volumes about the power of the individual to make something of their lives, and his foundation provided opportunities and gave hope to so many young people. His internship programme particularly provided an entry into the world of work and kick started careers. His motto, if you think you can, you can - inspired hope and energised young people disillusioned with the lack of both in their lives. His awards scheme cultivated leaders and 'doers' and challenged young people to do better on their own and others behalf. Though his passing is very sad, and our thoughts are with his family and colleagues, his memory will live on in his foundation and his example has set a standard towards which others can only hope to aspire. Rest in Peace, Sir Jack, thank you, bless you.
