Tribute to Sir Jack Petchey CBE

The Jack Petchey SpeakOut Competition changed my life, and I will forever look back on that period of my life with immense fondness and gratitude. I feel blessed that Jack Petchey’s commitment to enrichment and education gave me the opportunity to speak about a topic so close to my heart. Since delivering my speech and achieving 2nd place in my regional final, I have grown to accept parts of my identity I was ashamed of. The SpeakOut competition did wonders for my confidence, and so I will forever thankful to Sir Jack. May he rest in peace.
